National Bamboo Design Competition for Students, Tourist Cottage in Bamboo -2014
The national level bamboo design competition was organised by ‘Centre for Green Building Material & Technology’, Bangalore. The objective of the competition was to have the most creative, sustainable and cost effective designs using bamboo as major construction material for Tourist Cottages, which would boost the Eco-Tourism in the state.
The design competition was floated for the M. arch Environment students under ‘Sustainable materials and technology subject’ under guidance of Ar. Prajakta Dalal-kulkarni. First prize of Rs. 15,000 and all commendation prizes were won by M arch EA students.
Consultancy for Design of Experience zone in Ecobuild Exhibition:
Ecobuild is the world’s largest exhibition dedicated to the future of sustainable building design, construction and the built environment. On 16 April 2013 Ecobuild-India was organized in Mumbai. M. Arch Environmental dept. was invited to give consultancy on design ideas for an Experience Zone within this exhibition space.
An Experience zone design competition was floated for the students under Sustainable materials and technology subject. The designs were judged by the advisory panel of Ecobuild. And cash prizes were announced for the winning entries.
Paper presentation at Young Researchers International Conference (Austria):
Paper on “Energy Efficiency for Tarachand Hospital, Pune” was selected for an Young Researchers International Conference (Austria) for oral presentation by the scientific committee, World Sustainable Energy Days’ 2016
Intention of the project was to reduce Energy Consumption and enhance Water Efficiency of Tarachand Hospital with respect to ECBC Compliance.
After incorporation of various strategies, the energy consumption was reduced to around 45%

Every year an Exhibition cum lecture series on Eco Friendly materials and products is organized by Department of Environmental Architecture. The purpose of Green Fest is to provide opportunity to students to gain knowledge about various Green materials & technologies and to educate community on the importance of living a sustainable lifestyle and to promote Green practices.
Jatan is a youth festival which takes place every year in the city where various events and competitons take place to celebrate and admire environment and address the subject of sustainability at large. This festival is organized in association with the Pune Municipal Corporation along with various organisations, NGOs and educational institutes. As a part of this festival, every year BNCA organizes events like lecture series, competition, exhibition etc.
Vasundhara festival is organized by Kirloskar group every year. Vasundhara event attempts to explore nature and analyze issues related to environment, wildlife, energy, air and water. As a part of this festival, every year BNCA organizes events like lecture series, competition, exhibition etc.
