About

INSTITUTIONAL ROLES –  

Dr Shubhada Kamalapurkar is Professor and Member of Board of Studies , Architecture, of Pune University( SPPU). She is into Academics for past 26+ Years ; Founder Member of Dr B N College of Architecture and Founder and Former Head of Department of Landscape Architecture. She has completed B.Arch from SPPU (1992) , Masters in Architecture (Architectural Conservation) in 1994 from SPA, Delhi and Ph.D (2017) from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Formerly known as Pune University.  

Her Doctoral work dealt with Community Engagement, Tourism, Sustainable development and Management in context of Cultural Heritage. She has successfully collaborated with International Universities of MIT,USA, University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign (UIUC) , USA and Curtin University (under AUS-aid), Australia for Joint Research, Design Studios and workshops. 

She has been awarded ‘MASA – Best Teachers Award for the subject of ‘Landscape Design’ , in 2013 by Maharashtra Association of Schools of Architecture and CNN – IBN ‘LOKMAT SAKHI GAURAV PURASKAR’ in 2011, Category – ‘Education’ – Awarded for her contribution in the field of Education.  

She is Life Member of Indian Institute of Architects(IIA), Executive Committee Member of Pune Chapter of Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage(INTACH), Scientific Committee Member of Cultural Landscapes and Cultural Tourism for ICOMOS- INDIA and Contributing Member of International Scientific Committee of Cultural Landscapes – International Federation of Landscape Architecture ( ISCCL-IFLA).
