Digital technologies with its significant applications have been a catalyst in changing the way we live and aspire to. Advancement in digital technologies has brought about a contemporary condition of constant and accelerating change in our ways of living. Architecture has also been greatly influenced by the integration of digital tools in architectural designing and representation.
Digital architecture, also known as digital design or computational architecture, refers to the integration of digital technologies and computational methods into the architectural design and construction process. It involves using computer software, simulations, algorithms, and data-driven approaches to create, analyze, visualize, and optimize architectural designs. This encompasses a wide range of techniques, including parametric design, generative design, virtual reality (VR), and more.
In summary, digital architecture plays a crucial role in modern architectural practices by enhancing efficiency, precision, collaboration, sustainability, and design exploration. It empowers architects to create innovative and responsive designs that meet the demands of a rapidly changing world.
In our Master of Architecture (M. Arch) programme, Innovation is augmented through a dynamic and critical open-ended learning approach. The principle stance of the programme centers around fostering collaborative innovation, nurturing creative freedom and establish future relevance by reimagining the architectural discipline. The M.Arch digital programme capacitates aspiring architects by strengthening the areas that are relevant to the architectural profession today.
