Ever increasing and varying requirements of different types of built environment has led to development and advancement of technology and materials. Architects, worldwide, have harnessed the technological and computational advancements to create iconic structures. It is evident that understanding of structural systems, current trends in technology, knowledge of software, efficient selection and use of materials are imperative for architects to create efficient buildings and landmark structures.
The Structures Cell at BNCA is formed with an objective to develop and propagate structural understanding along with latest technical advancements among students. This objective is achieved through industry partnerships, experiential learning through software and hands on workshops, along with research activities, in and out of the classrooms. The cell works in synergy with archineering cell and other cells of BNCA.
Concrete Day 2026 celebration at BNCA
Concrete Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by students and faculty, and concluded on a very successful note.
The celebrations included the Inauguration and Guest Lecture by UltraTech Regional Technical Head Mr. Shitalraj Sindhakehde, Concrete Exhibition and a hands-on concrete workshop, all of which received very good response. The hands-on workshop was particularly well received, with enthusiastic participation from the S.Y. B.Arch. students.
The Inter-College Concrete Reel-Making Competition and Concrete Quiz were conducted on 14th August 2026 which received 70 registrations from 15 colleges.
Ar. Deepti Lele and Er. Shivdatta Patane were invited jury members (online) for the reel making competitions.
Prof. Hemant Joshi and Er. Jayant Inamdar graced the concrete quiz event by joining as esteemed jury members. Nearly 100 students participated through four challenging rounds, with the top three teams being awarded prizes.
