The BNCA Library has a rich variety of Books and other reading and reference material in Architecture, Design and Literature. It has Library Management software called KOHA which facilitates students to access Book catalogue from anywhere. We give open access to students to select their books from a range of Architectural Knowledge domain. Core subjects like Architectural Drawing-Design, History, Heritage to recent trends in Environmental, Landscape and Digital Architecture. Rare Books, Teaching –Learning pedagogy books, Indian Knowledge Books and Language and literature are the part of Library Collection.

The has OPAC terminal for students’ access and QR Code/ Barcode support to software for automated Book Issue system. Library has Institutional Photo Achieve Repository. Library Supports the Vision and Mission of the College. Library has all types of resources, to cater to Research in Architecture. “INFIBNET Research Corner” has been facilitated in Library, especially for PG and Research Students.

Library has a huge Reading Hall with capacity of 120 students to study. The library premises is Air-conditioned and Wi-fi enabled. Library staff is cooperative and always ready to cater to the students and faculty by offering different services. Library has CCTV Camera as security system. Library has scanning, printing and photocopy facility.

BNCA Library is committed create a strong bond between knowledge resources and the user fraternity of Faculty and students. The services rendered by the library cater to their progress in Academics and Research. The library contributes to the institutional goal of imparting Architectural and Design Education and helps to cultivates creativity in the students.

BNCA Library is constantly engaged in extending variety of Information Resources to its users.    The library also aims at preserving the incunabula materials in Repository. Library uses the latest technology and Resources to support the pedagogy in Architecture and design discipline. Library has state of Art Architecture.

Library Lending Rules at BNCA :

Book issuing for Students :

B Arch & B Des (UG) – 2 Books per student for another 1 week, Renewal
permitted for another week.
M Arch (PG)- 3 Books for 1 week, Renewal permit for another 1 week

Ph D Students- 3 Books for 1 week, Renewal permit for another 1 week
Late Fees : Rs.5/- per day for returning the Book after due date.

Book Issuing for Faculty :

1) Full Time Faculty: – 5 Books for 3 Months period,
Email reminder will be sent after due date.

2) Part Time / Visiting Faculty – 2 Books for the period of 15 days will be
issued with one time renewal facility for. The Library Account will be deactivated 15 days before the end of appointment date,

Library Account Creation Process :
For all faculty the Library LMS- KOHA Account will be created by producing their appointment letter.
For visiting faculty in addition to the appointment order , they need to pay Rs 2000/-as deposit for the appointment period .

Library Late Fees: Rs 5/- per book per day will be levied after due date.
Reference Books and other non-lendable material are not to be issued out from Library.
Book Recovery:
In case any book is lost or damaged by the Reader, he/she must replace the book or pay the amount equivalent to the latest edition of the book.

Reprography / Photocopy facility: Reference Book/ Current Journals / Project Repots/ Thesis, are allowed for photocopying at BNCA Photocopy Centre at Users’ own cost and it should be submitted back immediately.

Only 10% matter of the Reference Book or Journal is allowed for reprography, if the book is damaged while photocopying, the responsibility lies with the reader.

Membership of BNCA Library :
Faculty on roll and students admitted to B Arch, M Arch, Ph.D., B Design, are by default members of the Library, however they must get the library accounts created in KOHA Library software by producing Fee Receipt/ Appointment Order.

The members should register their library attendance through bio-metric machine, at the time of entry in the library.
Student need to show I- card when demanded. Bio metric recording is compulsory for Library entry.
Keep the Bags and other belongings on the Baggage counter, Library staff will not be responsible for any loss.

Alumni and Professional Membership:
BNCA Library extends its membership for its Alumni and outside students and working professionals. A daily membership of Rs.50/- is charged for consultation of Books, Journals and E- resources available at BNCA Library. No resources are available for home lending in such case.

Inter Library loan Policy: MKSSS has Union Catalogue of Books of 13 different Libraries. The users can browse books from any other library of MKSSS and if they need any book, they will get it through mutual consent of the Institutional Authorities and filling up an online consent form to complete the procedure for lnter Library Laon.

National and International Print Journals:
30 National and 10 International Journals are subscribed yearly, at BNCA Library including B Arch, M Arch, Ph D, B Design courses as per prescribed norms of CoA and AICTE.
They are not available for home lending and only to be consulted in the Library premises.
E Journal and E Resources and Digital Library Facility:
Library subscribes for e journals/ databases and e books every year. They are for
consulting in Digital Library of BNCA. The URLs are Bookmarked and Process can be explained by the Library Staff.

Remote Access : The databases are also available through User Name and Pass Word shared with the users by contacting the Librarian.

Library Rules

  1. All Students and Faculty are most welcome to the Library, We have suggestion Box kept at the Entrance of the library to give your recommendation for more efficient service.
  2. Student need to show I- card when demanded. Bio metric recording is compulsory for Library entry. Keep the Bags and other belongings on the Baggage counter , please, ensure its safety.
  3. The students will get 2 books and 1 Journal/magazine issue for 1 week home lending, they can renew the Book or Journal/ magazine for 1 week more either by visiting the Library or on phone.
  4. If the due date is missed, late fees of Rs 5/- will be charged per day.
  5. Reference material like CDs, Reports ,charts will be issued against I –card for 2 days. For this special material overdue charges will be Rs.10/-  per day.
  6. Reference Books are to be consulted in the Library only.
  7. Students need to reimburse the Book or pay the latest edition charges, if the books are misplaced or damaged by them.
  8. Pass out students should ensure that they are signing No Dues in time.
  9. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is available for finding the Books by keyword.
  10. E – journals and Databases are available for browsing, downloading and printing from Library.
