MKSSS’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture (BNCA), Pune is a community of Thinkers, Researchers, Innovators, and future Leaders who believe that Architecture is one of the most powerful instruments for shaping a sustainable, equitable, and inspiring world.
For over three decades, BNCA has nurtured architects who combine design excellence with social responsibility. Guided by the visionary legacy of Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha, established in 1896 to empower through education, we continue to uphold a tradition where knowledge creates opportunity, character inspires leadership, and education becomes a lifelong pursuit.
The challenges of the twenty-first century demand architects who can think beyond buildings. Climate change, rapid Urbanisation, Resource scarcity, Heritage conservation, Resilient Communities, Artificial intelligence, Digital fabrication, and Human well-being are redefining the profession. At BNCA, we prepare our students to engage with these realities through interdisciplinary learning, critical inquiry, technological innovation, and design rooted in empathy.

Through research, live projects, field studies, international collaborations, community engagement, and exposure to emerging technologies, students learn to create architecture that is environmentally responsible, culturally meaningful, and socially inclusive. At the same time, we believe that the future of architecture lies in drawing strength from India’s rich knowledge traditions while embracing global perspectives. We encourage our students to explore the wisdom of Traditional Knowledge Systems – vernacular architecture, indigenous materials, traditional water systems, climate-responsive design, and cultural heritage alongside contemporary technologies and global best practices.
