Vaishali Latkar is an academician and practising Conservation Architect based in Pune.
Presently she teaches at Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture for Women, Pune. She also heads the Center for Cultural Studies at BNCA. She has completed a Doctorate in architecture with a focus on built heritage of pilgrimage towns from Savitribai Phule Pune University. She has been awarded the ‘Best Teacher Award’ for Humanities by MASA (Maharashtra Association of Schools of Architecture) in July 2021. She is a member of ‘Heritage Documentation Committee Constituted by the Council of Architecture for conducting ‘Heritage Documentation Awards’. She is Vice President (Asia) of CIF, International Committee of ‘Education and Training’ of ICOMOS. She is coordinating National Scientific Committee of ‘Education and Training’ of ICOMOS India. She is a member of the Executive Committee, INTACH Pune Chapter.
Earlier she headed the department of M. Arch in Architectural Conservation at Sinhgad College Of Architecture, Pune from the inception of the course in 2006 to March 2022. She is a former member of the Board of Studies in Architecture at Savitribai Phule Pune University. She was a former member of a few Heritage committees constituted by authorities. She has been conducting Training programmes in Heritage conservation as well as Heritage Awareness Programmes for various types of groups.
Vaishali has written widely and presented in many national and international conferences.
