Asmita Joshi is a highly experienced professional with a diverse background in architecture, landscape urbanism, ecology, and sustainable development. With over 25 years of professional experience, She has made significant contributions as a Professor of Architecture at BNCA (Dr. B.N. College of Architecture for Women) for the past 18 years. She holds a Master’s degree in Landscape Urbanism from Kingston University, UK, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at SPPU (Savitribai Phule Pune University), focusing on exploring landscape values in designed landscapes from users’ perspectives.
Beyond academia, Asmita is actively involved in various professional associations and initiatives. She is an Associate member of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) and a life member of INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage). Her engagement in architecture and conservation is evident through her participation in panels for inspections and approvals, including her role on the panel for DFO (Divisional Forest Officer) training sessions at YASHADA, Pune, with a focus on Cultural Landscapes and Ecotourism.
Asmita’s dedication to environmental conservation and education is demonstrated through her involvement in diverse projects and organizations. She plays a significant role in managing the Radha Krishna Foundation’s Dnyanada English School in Aurangabad, a family initiative aimed at contributing to society through education. Additionally, she serves as the treasurer at the Ambadas Tallu Foundation, which focuses on providing healthcare to underprivileged communities.
