About

Mahesh conducts workshops and delivers talks on Project Management in Building Construction, Risk Management, Vernacular Architecture and Thinking Design for colleges across India on various forums including the Annual and Zonal NASA Conventions. He has been invited by institutes as a motivational speaker and also for conducting elective subjects of Design thinking, Risk and Project Management etc. He has served as a Jury Member and curator for many National and International Design and allied competitions and has been invited for Architectural Design Juries (B. Arch and M. Arch) at several Universities in India. He has been a mentor for International design Workshops, a Panelist on various platforms on topics of Environment, Sustainability, Project Management, and Heritage and has also served as a Panel Moderator for several forums including those of IA&B’s 361 Degree Design Conferences in Mumbai, various Talk shows of IIID, Panel Discussions at NASA India, Asia Young Designer Awards (AYDA), UNAI Programs, Design Worx Asia etc. Mahesh is empaneled with the Council of Architecture as an Inspector and as a NATA Exam observer. Mahesh is a Research Scholar at BNCA (Under SPPU) and has recently started his Ph. D research under the guidance of Dr. Abhijit Natu. Mahesh’s research interests include topics of Housing, Heritage, Environment, and Project Management. Along with his colleagues & Students, he has published a few research papers and has presented them at National and International Conferences in India and abroad. He runs a modest practice in the name of Studio7.Inc in Pune which undertakes design consultancy & conducts Architectural & Study Tours, organizes workshops, and collaborates for various architectural events & competitions.

Mahesh Bangad is an Associate Professor at Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Architecture (BNCA), Pune, India. He is currently the coordinator for B. Arch Course, at BNCA. He has a Masters in Project Management (Manchester, UK), a Certificate Diploma in Indian Art & Architecture (India) and holds a Masters in Environmental Architecture and Planning from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune with his Bachelor’s in Architecture also from SPPU. He is the recipient of the ‘Best Maheshwari Professional (Pune District) Award 2012’, the ‘A3F Young Achiever Award’ 2016 for Architecture and has also won the ‘A3F Best Teacher Award’ in 2017 at the National level. He was awarded the “Leader of BNCA” Award in 2019, for his contribution for various college activities. He has won the “Leadership Icon Award 2021” under the ‘Most Promising Professor of Architecture and Design’ category and has won an Award for “Outstanding contribution in Educational domain” in ‘Architecture and Design Category’ for the year 2021, at the National Architecture and Interior Design Excellence Awards 2021. He is also awarded the “India Prime Quality Education Award 2021” by Fox Clues, Daily Hunt and the Chronicle Journal, in July 2021. He is the Chairman of the Architects, Engineers, Surveyors Association (AESA), Pune. He is the Honorary Secretary of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) Pune Regional Chapter (PRC). A Life member of INTACH, a heritage enthusiast, Mahesh is an Executive Committee Member of INTACH Pune Chapter. He has represented the State of Maharashtra at the UNESCO INTACH ‘World Heritage Forum for Youth’ at Delhi. Mahesh is a Governing Council Member for Flora College of Architecture, Pune & a member of the Board of Studies at the Vishwakarma University’s Department of Interior Design, Pune. He has been a part of syllabus committee for various subjects at SPPU. He is the Secretary of Raktache Nate Charitable Trust, a pan India NGO, working in the field of Blood Donation and providing blood free of cost to needy patients. Mahesh is an Associate Member of Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) & a member of the Heritage Society, India.
