We are also one of the largest consumers of the energy resource when we add to the built environment. The effect of the built environment has a considerable impact on the un-built environment. The environment left to our mercy is degrading due to insensitive approach of the professionals who matter.

This course aims at sensitising the professionals to the environmental issues, global as well as site specific, focusing on the design approach, technology and economics to address them. The architects can play a major role in influencing the clients and authorities to practice energy conservation and contribute to environmental sustainability.
This department offers two year masters degree course in Environmental architecture. This course is designed and detailed as per the norms of Council of Architecture of India.
With reference to the circular No. क्र. तंशिप्र-१२२४/प्र.क्र. ०३/एम.आर्च/२०२४/२०६८ issued by the State Common Entrance Cell, Govt. of Maharashtra, dated 25th Nov 2024, the state-level common entrance test (CET) for M.Arch admissions will no longer be conducted from the academic year 2025-26. As per the circular, the admission test for eligibility for M.Arch will be PGETA (Post Graduate Entrance Test in Architecture), conducted by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi. Admission process details will be notified soon.

Nishigandha Sakhardande (M.Arch II Year – EA Student) got the 1st position Award and a cash prize for her Poster Presentation titled “ Enhancing Water Circularity in Construction: Recycling Techniques, Applications and Comparative Analysis”.
The competition was organised as a part of the Symposium titled ‘ Bridging Industry – Academia for SDG 6’ organised by NICMAR university in collaboration with Ecosan Services Foundation on World Water Day 2025 celebrated on 22nd March.
She is guided by Dr. Sujata Karve in the field of Water Circularity.
Use of by-products obtained from sanitary napkin’s recycled waste in flyash bricks
Ar. Aishwarya mandavgane, a student of bnca’s M.Arch environmental architecture course under the guidance of prof. Prajakta dalal-kulkarni has developed bricks using the by-product generated from recycling of waste sanitary napkins. She has used this waste from PADCARE lab to replace cement in fly ash blocks, which makes them further greener option for building industry.
