Curriculum Vitae – Rahul Chutake

Ar. Rahul Chutake graduated with his B. Arch. in 1996. He was immediately absorbed by Sandeep Mahajan & Associates. He quickly rose there as a senior architect and worked there the next six years as an associate on numerous mixed residential, interiors and slum rehabilitation projects.

In 2001, he decided to take up further studies and finding construction to be his passion pursued his Masters in Construction Management at the acclaimed University of Texas A&M. While in College Station, he assisted the Facility Manager of the Food Service Department and worked hands-on on construction, design and maintenance of several food service units. Considering his background as an architect, a graduate in construction management and his work in the food service industry, Frank Clements & Associates – Kitchen Consultants quickly picked him up on completing his masters.

In 2004, Ar. Rahul Chutake joined EDI Architecture Inc. Houston – a company with projects around the globe. From the capacity of a production architect, he was soon engaged into the Construction Administration team. For the next 6 years he served as a Construction & Contract Administration-Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager-Project Controls on several complex projects for oil companies like British Petroleum, Exxon and Sonangol in the African continent.

After returning to Pune, while academia occupies majority of his time he continues consulting overseas projects regarding document production and code compliance auditing. Locally he provides architectural consultancy and auditing of ventilation and firefighting & safety to industrial clients.

As a faculty at BNCA and guest lecturer at other colleges, he has administered graduate level subjects like planning and scheduling, professional communications, building repairs & maintenance, project assessment and contract management. At the undergraduate plane he has taught architectural design, building construction, building services and electives towards project management, facilities management and advanced services for intelligent buildings. He guides several undergraduates and graduate students with their thesis every year.

Ar. Rahul Chutake, has received training from Red Cross and the Fire Department of the City of Houston and has held the position of a Fire Warden and member of the Emergency Response Team in a High Rise Commercial Facility.

He has been a speaker on several platforms. He is an enthusiastic traveller and a certified fitness trainer.
